About Adam Ryan Photography

Starting in 2020, I made some radical changes to my working model:

** Strictly documentary and editorial style shooting. **

What exactly does this mean?
Well, in simplified terms, it means I photograph stuff as it is; no staging, no posing, no fake photoshopping, limited props, just real emotions.
If you're looking for a traditional photographer that twists you into strange poses, or provides you with the same cliche photos that everyone expects, then I am probably not a fit for you.

Here are some reasons to hire a documentary style photographer:

  • When you look back at your images you’ll remember what you were feeling, rather than what you had been told to do by a photographer.
  • You get to see things you didn’t even know happened.
  • It’s perfect if you’re camera shy or self-conscious
  • Images are fresh, dynamic and unique, as they’re not re-creations.

How does this work?

From the start of the day, you get to enjoy your wedding day. It is your special day and I feel that people do not want to spend hours upon hours of their ‘once in a lifetime’ moment being directed around for photos; instead we will visit some locations of your choice and let you be with family or friends and just enjoy yourselves. I will be there capturing moments as they happen. Genuine and spontaneous.

If this sounds like your ideal style then feel free to contact me and hopefully we can cross one more thing off your wedding list:

  • [X] Hire a photographer
You choose the location, I do the shooting. Whether it’s a family photo shoot, portrait shoot, or anything else you may want to have photographed, you are free to engage with each other or your surroundings and I’ll make sure to capture the real moments as they unfold.
Portrait Photo Shoots
These are traditional photo shoots exclusively for individual sessions. These can be grad shoots, cap and gown photos, headshots, or a photo shoot that you may want for a portfolio.
I do not perform the following types of photography:
  • * Traditional posed family shoots
  • * Boudoir shoots
  • * Sports photography
  • * Maternity shoots
  • * Newborn/infant/toddler shoots
Also, I do not do shoots for children under the age of 10, unless they are part of the lifestyle photo shoot with their parents.
